Wainfleet Council has decided to waive penalty and interest charges for the 2020 taxation year.
This will be in effect until the end of June.
Council passed the motion during an emergency meeting Thursday night, in hopes of helping those who are financially struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interim tax bills are due at the end of April and you can pay online or over the phone.
You can also pay at your bank or send a cheque to Town Hall.
Any postdated cheques and preauthorized instalment plan payments will proceed as scheduled at the end of the month.
The Monthly Preauthorized Payment Plan also remains unchanged at this time, and payments will be withdrawn on the 15th of each month.
If you can't afford to pay your bill at this time, late charges will not be applied until July 1st.
