Health Minister confirms the wind down of the vaccine passport may not happen.
Don't expect to see the province wind down its vaccine passport system next month.
Speaking in the legislature during Question Period today, Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott confirming the vaccine passport system may not wind down if the Omicron variant continues to present itself as a danger to the public.
Elliott says the system that restricts indoor public activities to the fully vaccinated may continue for several months depending on what happens with this new variant.
Under the current emergency framework, the vaccine passport system was set to be removed from restaurants, bars and fitness centres as early as Jan. 17th.
The vaccine passport system and indoor mask mandate would completely expire by the end of March, 2022.
