The city says there's a North America wide shortage
Some adjustments to how the City of Niagara Falls is keeping roads clear of snow.
The city says a province-wide shortage of road salt is affecting winter maintenance across Ontario, but also parts of the US.
Niagara Falls has been told it is not receiving its full annual supply because of higher demand, frequent storms, and supply and transportation being affected across North America.
While it pursues all means of finding salt, the city still has enough, by mixing it with sand.
The city adds that means plows may need to work more due to snow that would melt quicker with only salt.
