U.S. border reopened to Canadian travellers at midnight
Fully vaccinated vacationers, visitors and day trippers are now cleared to drive into the U.S. for the first time since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
But not everyone will be heading over to buy beer or fill up their gas tank because of the test requirement on the return trip home.
Upon the return trip back into Canada, travellers must show proof of a negative molecular COVID 19 test, which can cost hundreds of dollars.
Buffalo congressman Brian Higgins, who campaigned to get the border reopened, has a news conference set for today alongside community leaders from both sides of the border urging Canada to drop the molecular test requirement,
