One of world's oldest "toys" gets a nod
American Girl dolls and the strategy board game Risk have been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame.
And the hall decided to enshrine plain old common beach sand which the group called perhaps the most universal and oldest toy in the world.
All three were honoured during a ceremony at the Rochester based museum.
This year's nominees that didn't make it into the hall: Battleship, The Settlers of Catan, Mahjong and billiards, Cabbage Patch Kids, Masters of the Universe, Fisher-Price Corn Popper, the toy fire engine and the pinata.
