Niagara's Regional chair made the comments visiting Pelham council, is waiting to see what the provincial government does
We're getting a hint from Niagara's regional chair concerning a huge elephant in the room.... the future of the regional government.
Bob Gale was asked about this at Pelham council this morning, he says he's not had any meetings yet.
However, he says there are too many politicians, and 32 regional members can make decision making tougher. "When it comes time for everyone, I would think the powers of Toronto would let us know, when it happens. This rumour has been going on for 4-years? There has to be something happen. I've had people meet with me and say 'We want our own identity.' But, I say I'm not involved in this right now."
He believes there would also be public consultations on this.
