New certificate includes scannable QR code
Over the weekend, the province restricted downloads based on birth month in an effort to streamline the process.
But today the service opens up to all double or triple dosed residents.
The QR code allows businesses to scan the certificate using a new app that will register either a green check, a yellow caution sign or a red X which means the certificate is invalid.
According to the app, the yellow caution signals the QR code was issued outside of Canada.
If you don't have a mobile phone, the province says "you can download and print your enhanced vaccine certificate with official QR code using a computer or use the one that was provided to you following vaccination. Remember, valid personal identification is required to confirm identity."
The enhanced system officially takes effect on Friday.
The link to download the new certificate is here.
