Public Health says Niagara's COVID-19 death toll is now at 451.
Three more people have died of COVID-19 in Niagara, including a person in the 20-39 age group.
Public Health says the area's death toll is now at 451.
This comes as officials report 292 new cases today.
However, Niagara Region Public Health notes case counts may be an underestimate, due to limited availability of testing and changes to case and contact management practices.
As of this morning, there are 141 Niagara Health patients battling the virus, including 24 in ICUs.
Ninety-one of the patients are being treated primarily for COVID-19.
Niagara Health also says 447 of its staff members and physicians are currently self-isolating due to COVID-19.
Throughout Niagara, there are 5,552 active cases, including 1,657 in St. Catharines and 1,131 in Niagara Falls.
More than 918,000 vaccine doses have been administered in the region.
To date, 85.6 percent of eligible residents have one dose, and 80.5 percent have a complete series.
