Pass is for St. Catharines residents only
The City of St. Catharines free beach parking pass program proving to be very popular.
The Standard reporting over 5,000 residents have applied for a pass since they became available on May 3rd.
The influx of requests forced officials to move municipal staff from other areas to the parking department to process the applications.
The pass allows city residents to park for free at Lakeside and Sunset beach parking lots.
Non residents will have to pay $3 an hour for a maximum of three hours of parking.
