Prices expected to surge again
Just when you thought they couldn’t get any higher?
A gas analyst predicts prices will surge at the pumps in time for the Victoria Day long weekend.
Dan McTeague, the head of Canadians For Affordable Energy tells CTV, he expects prices to soar 10-15 cents a litre on average country wide.
McTeague says prices in the GTA could hit $2.10 a litre on or just after the long weekend.
He says its all due to a number of factors including the value of the loonie compared to the greenback, we’re heading into the busy summer driving season, the Russia Ukraine conflict and several U.S. refineries have been closed for maintenance.
Gas prices in Niagara range from $1.89 to $1.99 a litre.
