Police say stolen merchandise linked to robbery of Icon Autographs in Niagara Falls
A good news story, thanks to the work of Niagara regional police.
You may remember in November of last year when thieves stole some sports memorabilia from Icon Autographs on Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.
Police say last week they were conducting a gun investigation, which led to a foot chase of a Niagara Falls man. He was caught, and police say he had a loaded gun.
That led to the search of a Niagara Falls home and hotel, where police found about $11,000 worth of fentanyl, MDMA, crystal meth and cocaine.
They also found 10 high end bicycles, $20,000 in sports memorabilia, linked to the November robbery, and large quantity of cigarettes.
Police say 38-year old Alan Richard Christensen and 35-year old Tanya Jacqueline Gilchrist, both of Niagara Falls, are each charged with:
- Possession restricted weapon or prohibited firearm without holding a licence (2 Counts)
- Possession restricted weapon or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence (2 Counts)
- Possession of loaded regulated firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm (2 Counts)
- Possession proceeds of crime over $5000
- Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
- Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking Crystal Meth
- Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking MDMA
He's also charged with having a firearm contrary to an order.
Police say they both had a bail hearing, but remain in police custody.
