Record breaking heat in today's forecast
With the temperature expected to climb to 31 with a humidex of 37, the city of St. Catharines is opening a couple of cooling centres to help residents can beat the heat.
The Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Russell Avenue Community Centre will be open until 9:00 tonight.
Splash pads in the city are also operating with extended hours, until 9 p.m.
