This comes afte the city's integrity commissioner found she had contravened council's code of conduct.
The commissioner is recommending Councillor Karrie Porter be reprimanded at a public meeting for wrongly accused a local man of harassing her online.
The man filed a complaint saying Porter had mistaken him for an online troll going by the name of Don Bayley.
He says she called him, his friends and colleagues accusing him and also made comments on her social media accounts.
The Standard reporting Porter's lawyer says once she found out about her mistake she immediately apologized to the man, an apology he refused to accept.
Porter telling the paper she accepts the commissioner's findings but adds she is still the subject of daily harassment.
