Former city councilor Mike Britton recommended to replace George Darte.
St. Catharines City Council is recommending Mike Britton to fill George Darte's Niagara Regional Council seat.
At last night's meeting, council voted 9 to 1 in favour of recommending the former city councilor.
In the 2018 election, Britton was the next-place finisher for St. Catharines regional council representatives.
Britton telling the Standard he is looking forward to serving the people of St. Catharines, once the recommendation is approved by Niagara regional council.
In January, he was overlooked when council replaced the late Sandie Bellows with Mat Siscoe.
