Two people injured after car stops to help vehicle in a ditch.
UPDATE (2:20 PM): The Ministry of Transportation has confirmed the road hs re-opened.
Original story:
The southbound Highway 406 is closed at Highway 20 in Thorold due to a serious crash.
OPP say an SUV went into a ditch.
Another car pulled over to the left shoulder to help, and when the female driver got out, a man driving a third vehicle hit the back of the stopped car.
The 29 year old woman and a 23 year old man driving the third car were hospitalized.
The OPP says the 23 year old was hospitalized with serious injures, though at the moment officials are waiting for updates on the conditions of both injured individuals.
The 62 year old driver of the original SUV wasn't injured.
It's not yet known how the first vehicle got into the ditch.
