A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Niagara.
Environment Canada warns the area could see severe thunderstorms late this afternoon heading into the evening.
Wind gusts up to 100 km/hr, large hail up to 2 cm in diameter and local heavy rainfall are possible.
The weather office says large hail can damage property, and strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, overturn cars and break branches off trees.
Heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and water pooling on roads.
You're advised to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
