Lots of people tried to pay a visit to Decew Falls in St. Catharines even though the area currently closed to the public.
CAO David Oakes told the St. Catharines Standard that several people tried to break in through holes in the fence on Saturday.
The NRP had to station cruisers in the Morningstar Mill parking lot and at least 18 people were ticketed for trespassing.
Several parking tickets were also issued in the area.
The city decided to close Morningstar Mill on June 19th due to large crowds of people.
The fire department was also called in several times during the weeks prior in order to rescue distressed or injured hikers.
