Following the federal government in its decision to ban TikTok from government-owned devices
Cities and police services across the province are following the federal government's lead in banning TikTok from work and government-owned devices.
The City of London says employees have been banned from using the app on devices owned by the city.
As well, Waterloo police members have been asked to delete the app if they have it on their work phones.
Locally, Niagara police said employees have been asked to remove TikTok from work phones, but an official account only accessible to its communications unit is still active.
Earlier this week, the federal government banned the app from government-owned devices after the chief information officer said there is a high risk to privacy and security.
