Police say a car crashed into a tree on Grantham Avenue
Tragedy on the streets of St. Catharines after a single vehicle crash.
Police were called to a serious collision on Grantham Avenue, near Scott Street, late yesterday afternoon, to find a car had crashed into a tree.
Police say the driver of the black 2009 Dodge Caliber, a 77-year old man from St. Catharines, was seriously hurt.
Despite attempts to save him, police say the man was pronounced dead at hospital.
The road was re-opened late last night.
Police are asking for witnesses to call them, including if you have dashcam video of the crash.
