The province is working on a plan to allow some COVID positive healthcare workers to continue working New Year. Health Minister Christian Dube says the decision would be made on a case-by-case basis and the goal is to keep the health-care system operational.
There are reports that health officials in Ontario and Manitoba are considering adopting similar tactics.
Quebec reported 12,833 new COVID cases yesterday along with 15 new deaths and 88 new hospitalizations. Officials say 702 Quebecers are currently being treated for the virus in hospital and 115 of them are in intensive care.
Here in Ontario, Health Minister Christine Elliott reported 8,825 cases of the virus and seven new deaths yesterday. She adds 491 people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital and 187 of them are in the ICU.
Manitoba reported 825 new cases of the virus along with five new deaths yesterday. A total of 164 people have been hospitalized with the virus. Officials say 27 people are in the ICU and 22 have active COVID-19.
