Long Term Care Minister to give update this morning
The province's Long Term Care Minister will update her government's efforts to improve air conditioning in long term care homes.
This follows a CBC report which found the government has failed to make good on a promise to make sure all homes maintain a minimum temperature of 22 C.
It was during last summer's July heatwave, the Premier promised to immediately change the Long Term Care Homes Act to force any homes without central air to provide at least one cooling area for every 40 residents .
This morning at 9:00, Minister Dr. Merrilee Fullerton will give an update on investments and progress towards improving air conditioning in senior's residences.
