The province wants to outlaw asking students who report incidents of sexual harassment or violence about their sexual history.
Other suggested changes include ensuring that students don't face consequences for violating a school's alcohol and drug policy.
Ross Romano, Minister of Colleges and Universities says it's important to have policies in place that let victims come forward without fear of facing consequences.
"We know that many instances of sexual violence and harassment on and around campuses go unreported, and often this is because students are afraid of reprisal or concerned that they will not be taken seriously."
If enacted, the changes would make Ontario one of only a few Canadian jurisdictions that have these protections specifically outlined in legislation.
