Natural Resources Minister Graydon Smith is encouraging families to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend
If you're looking for something to do with the family on Mother's Day, the province is offering free fishing this weekend.
Usually, an Ontario Outdoors Card and a fishing license are required to fish in Ontario, however, the province does offer free fishing a few weekends each year. .
"Whether you’re new to fishing or an experienced angler, it’s a great way to bond with family this Mother’s Day weekend," said Graydon Smith, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. "This is a fantastic way for families to get out and enjoy one of Ontario’s greatest natural resources - our beautiful lakes, rivers and streams."
All conservation catch limits, size limits and other fishing regulations still apply.
The next chance for free fishing will be on Father's Day weekend in June.
