The provincial government has announced an investment targeted to counter antisemitism in schools.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce has announced a $327,000 investment, which will be used on new training initiatives and resources for educators, as well as supports for students.
The money will support two summer learning programs at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies.
The 'Unpacking Intolerance: Equity and Diversity Training for Educators' program will help educators learn about dismantling systems of oppression and anisemitism in schools, communities, and homes.
In addition, students will learn about human rights through the 'Tour for Humanity Virtual Summer Camp.'
Ontario's Education Minister has a virtual announcement set for this morning.
Stephen Lecce, along with two other Conservative MPP's, will made an announcement about new initiatives to combat anti-semitism in the province's schools.
The announcement is set for 11:30 this morning and will be livestreamed on the government's YouTube channel.
