A couple of local projects are set to benefit from a provincial investment in long-term care.
The province has pledged $933 million in 80 long-term care projects, which will create 11,707 spaces at such facilities.
Beneficiaries include Gilmore Lodge of Fort Erie, which will see the construction of a new 160 bed facility.
The investment will also help Niagara Health's Extended Care Unit in Welland, which will get 53 new spaces and 75 upgraded ones.
Across Ontario, the projects are slated to add 7,510 new spaces and upgrade 4,197.
