Feds approve teams return to Canada
After nearly two years away from home, the Jays will return to play on home turf July 30th.
In a statement the team says it will resume play on that date at Rogers Centre after receiving a National Interest Exemption.
The federal Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino says in the release, the decision was made in conjunction with the Public Health Agency of Canada and with the approval of provincial and municipal public health officials.
Mendicino adds there will be pre and post arrival testing of everyone crossing the border as well as testing of unvaccinated individuals four times a week.
Any team or staff members not vaccinated will have to undergo a modified quarantine and will not be allowed to go anywhere but the hotel and stadium with no interaction with the general public.
While making the announcement the Jays tweeted out " No place like home."
