NRP have laid assault charges against a man who attempted to rob a store.
Around 11:30 yesterday morning, police were called to a store near Victoria Avenue and McRae Street.
A man had attempted to steal merchandise, and he assaulted a store employee in the process.
The employee received minor injuries, and the man fled on foot before officers arrived.
The suspect was tracked down by Police Services Dog Jax, who found him hiding under a rear porch of a house in the Florence Avenue and McRae Street area.
The man damaged the wooden deck trying to escape from the dog.
He experienced medical distress while being arrested and was transported to a local hospital.
Upon his release, he was brought to the NRP Service Prisoner Management Unit, and charged with robbery and mischief under $5000.
