Niagara's COVID-19 death toll now at 448.
Another local person has died of COVID-19.
Niagara Region Public Health says the area's death toll is now at 448.
This comes as 406 new cases were announced today.
Niagara Health is reporting 101 patients with the virus, nine of which are in ICUs.
Sixty-two of the patients are being treated primarily for the virus.
There are 5,624 active cases, including 1,675 in St. Catharines, 1,142 in Niagara Falls and 570 in Welland.
The region also has 59 active outbreaks.
More than 903,000 vaccinations have been administered in Niagara to date.
About 85.2 percent of residents five and older have one show and 80.1 percent are fully immunized.
