Emterra's Make Your Contribution at the Curb Program managed to raise over $345,000 in the end.
It first launched nine years ago, back when Emterra first started handling Niagara's waste collection.
It would donate $1 to the Walker Family Cancer Centre for every tonne of recyclable material collected.
The last cheque was worth a total of $33,182.
The Region entered into a new waste collection contract last week with two new contractors; Miller Waste Systems and GFL Environmental.
