Niagara Health is confirming an outbreak of COVID-19 on the sixth floor of the Welland Site.
The outbreak was called after four patient-related cases of the virus were determined to be healthcare associated.
To ensure the protection of staff and patients, Niagara Health has closed the unit to new admissions or transfers unless medically necessary.
Essential Care Partners are not allowed on the unit, and contact tracing is underway.
Contact tracing and enhanced cleaning of the unit are underway.
