Niagara's public high school teachers will be ready to walk off the job for one-day.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation has announced a fourth round of one-day strike action.
It will target the following school boards on Wednesday January 8th;
- Algoma District School Board
- Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board
- Greater Essex County District School Board
- Avon Maitland District School Board
- Peel District School Board
- District School Board of Niagara
- Limestone District School Board
- Renfrew County District School Board
The OSSTF says all of the affected school boards will be engaged in a full withdrawl of services.
The job action will also impact the following French schools in the area;
- École élémentaire catholique Immaculée-Conception
- École secondaire catholique Jean-Vanier
- École élémentaire catholique Notre-Dame-de-la-Jeunesse (Niagara Falls)
- École élémentaire catholique du Sacré-Cœur (Welland)
- École élémentaire catholique Saint-Antoine
- École élémentaire catholique Saint-Joseph
- École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys (St.Catharines)
- École élémentaire catholique Saint-François-d’Assise
- École secondaire Franco-Niagara
- École élémentaire Nouvel Horizon
- École élémentaire LaMarsh
- École élémentaire L’Héritage
- Bureau administratif de Welland
The union has been fighting increases to class sizes and mandatory e-learning requirements, but the government says the main issue is compensation.
