OPP will be conducting their Easter Long Weekend Seatbelt Campaign this weekend
The OPP is reminding you to buckle up while heading out this long weekend.
Last year, police have responded to 61 seatbelt-related fatalities on OPP-patrolled roads.
Drivers are reminded that everything in a vehicle, including pets and unbuckled passengers, can cause serious injuries or death in the event of a collision.
"The life-saving benefits of wearing a seatbelt are irrefutable and remain your best chance of surviving a collision - consider your seatbelt your best line of defence, protecting you and the occupants of your motor vehicle. Please make those three seconds it takes to buckle up an important part of every road trip for you and your family." - Thomas Carrique, Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner
This weekend, the OPP will be on patrol for their Easter Long Weekend Seatbelt Campaign.
