OPP have responded to 30 drownings and 20 marine fatalities so far this year.
The OPP is reminding you to wear a life jacket when out on the water this long weekend.
Sgt Kerry Schmidt says so far this year, the OPP have been called to 20 marine fatalities with 14 victims not wearing a life jacket, as well as 30 drownings.
He suggests not swimming alone if you're not a strong swimmer.
"If you're not a strong swimmer, if you're a little afraid of the water, make sure you're always with a buddy, and make sure someone knows where you are."
Schmidt says conditions can change quickly when you're swimming, and you should keep a close eye on everyone when close to water.
Wear your life jacket or PFD when out on the water.
