Police seize 11,800 plants found at St. Catharines facility
Two people have been arrested after police seized about $12 million worth of cannabis plants in St. Catharines.
The OPP says on May 6th, 11,800 cannabis plants were found at a facility on Third Avenue Louth.
Officers also found about 77 kilograms of cannabis shake.
According to police, the facility was licensed to produce less than 1,000 cannabis plants.
Two days later, another search took place at a nearby home where the suspects live, and the pair were arrested.
Facing charges are 40 year old Rodolfo Ramirez and 25 year old Gervi Santamaria.
They have both been charged with cultivating cannabis without authorization.
Both have been remanded into custody, and a court date has been set.
