The Ford Government recently unveiled Ontario's Flooding Strategy, but it didn't provide any of the financial details.
It consists of five key priority areas;
- Understanding Flood Risk
- Strengthening Governance
- Enhancing Flood Prepardeness
- Enhancing Response and Recovery
- Investing in Flood Risk Reduction
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says it's a step in the right direction.
"Our government is taking action to strengthen the province's preparedness for flooding."
The government formed the strategy using information collected during public consultations and expert advice from Ontario's Special Advisor on Flooding Doug McNeil.
