Centres can allow visitors and indoor singing.
The province is sending updated guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols to childcare centres.
This comes after parents and child care staff urged the province to review some of the rules that were initially brought in when centres re-opened last summer.
The guidance indicates that centres can allow singing indoors and visitors.
Some parents and childcare operators are calling for more clarity surrounding visitors, as many centres had been doing drop-offs and pickups at the door.
It also says centres should focus on hand washing instead of cleaning shared toys, and group materials like water tables are allowed.
While it's not encouraged, staff can now move between locations and age groups.
As well, staff aren't required to wear masks outdoors or face shields when working with masked children in Grade one or higher.
