Premier to officially unveil app tomorrow.
Ontario's vaccine verification app has been launched.
The Verify Ontario app, which will be unveiled tomorrow by Premier Doug Ford and members of his government at 11:00 am.
The app is available for download on the Google Play and Apple stores.
According to a description on Google Play, businesses can use it to scan the QR code on vaccine certificates.
A green checkmark means vaccine requirements are met, and a red X suggests the certificate isn't valid.
A yellow warning means the QR code can't be read.
Users won't have to give specific locations, and data linking locations, visitors or businesses won't be collected.
While the scanning feature works without an internet connection, Verify Ontario will occasionally need to connect to the web to update vaccine or entry requirements.
Updates can also be manually completed on the settings and information page.
The province had set it would release a digital verification app by October 22nd.
