A man has been arrested following a disturbance in Welland.
Around 6:00 a.m. yesterday, officers were called on Jefferson Court West near Lancaster Drive.
Investigators determined that two men were in a physical fight, when one of them struck the other with a machete style knife.
The victim, a Welland man in his thirties, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
At the time of the arrest, police searched the suspect and discovered more knives and suspected illegal drugs.
26 year old Daylen Christian Gyldenbjerg of no fixed address faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a schedule I substance.
