NRT OnDemand making changes as it enters the second year of its rideshare service.
It's been exactly one year since NRT OnDemand launched transit service in Niagara.
The two year pilot project was launched on August 17th, 2020, and since then, there have been nearly 30,000 rides.
As the project enters its second year, staff have been gathering feedback on how to improve the service.
As a result, beginning in September, riders will be able to book their transit trips in advance.
Unlike conventional services, NRT OnDemand doesn't operate on fixed routes.
Instead, it lets riders request trips in real-time through the app or on the phone by selecting a pickup point and destination.
The service operates Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in West Niagara and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The mini-vans offer seating for up to five people, and COVID-19 safety protocols are in place
More information on the service is available here.
