In light of the lockdown, numerous gathering restrictions are in place.
The NRP says that many local hotels have hired NRPS officers for the night after numerous local residents and people from the GTA attempted to book hotel rooms for the night.
They say that they are working with municipal and regional partners in by-law enforcement in efforts to ensure a zero-tolerance approach to COVID-19 emergency orders.
The NRP reminds you that gatherings with people you don't live with is forbidden (except for organized events, which have a limit of ten people).
Large groups in hotel rooms run the risk of eviction, and people who organize or plan gatherings with those outside their home face a $10,000 fine.
Attendees can be fined $880 in accordance with the Reopening Ontario Act.
