An officer with the NRP has been arrested following an off-duty incident in Thorold.
On February 27th, police were called to the scene of a disturbance between two men at a Thorold gas station.
An adult male suffered minor injuries as a result.
Earlier today, investigators arrested Constable Josh Wood and charged him with assault.
Wood is a one-year member of the Service, who was assigned to Uniform Patrol.
He has been suspended with pay.
The NRP says the matter is now before the court, and no further comments will be made at the moment.
