They consider him armed and dangerous, after Avondale store in St. Catharines was hit yesterday
Police need your help to find a thief they consider armed and dangerous.
They were called late yesterday afternoon to the Avondale store on Glenridge Avenue in St. Catharines about a robbery that just happened.
A man picked out some items, and while at the counter to pay, he pulled out a black and blue handgun.
Police say he pointed it at the clerk, demanded money, and emptied the cash register into a bag, and fled northbound on foot.
The clerk was not hurt.
Police say this man should be considered dangerous as he left with the gun.
Police tried to find him with the K9 unit, but couldn't. They add if you recognize him, don't approach him, but call 911 immediately.
- White male, 50–60 years old
- Black hair
- Thin build, average height
- Large nose
- Raspy voice, English-speaking with no accent
Clothing worn:
- Blue Helly Hansen coat with a hood and grey stripe on the back
- Black hoodie pulled up
- Black Under Armour track pants
- Red and white Canada scarf
- Blue bowling-style bag
- Black shoes
