The same group that organized last weekend's rally in St. Catharines, has another demo planned Saturday
A poster circulating online says the rally will be held from 1-9 pm at the corner of McDonald Avenue and Kitchener Street on Saturday, April 17th.
That corner is home to the former Niagara Falls Memorial Arena, but it's not clear if the protestors will gather on that site which is now privately owned.
In a note to 105 The River/101More FM newsroom, the NRP's Corporate Communications Manager Stephanie Sabourin says "We are aware of the planned gathering Saturday April 17, 2021. We continue to work with our municipal and regional bylaw partners in the on-going enforcement of Emergency Orders under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and will enforce and issue fines as deemed appropriate and necessary. "
She adds, "In the duration, officers use discretion to best manage the situation to not cause it to escalate and to preserve the peace. The leading principle is keeping the peace and public safety and in doing so, at times, must utilize discretion when it comes to immediate enforcement."
