Damage estimate pegged at more than 20K
Detectives from multiple districts in Niagara are investigating a rash of incidents where parked cars are being damaged by someone smashing large rocks through windows.
A suspect and car photo were obtained from a recent incident in St. Catharines / Thorold.
The image of the suspect is of poor quality, but police are hoping the car may be more recognizable.
Police say at least 16 incidents were reported on June 28th and another 18 incidents on June 30th.
NRP are searching for a suspect who is believed to have been shirtless.
The latest description of the suspect is a white male, about 6 feet tall, wearing dark pants and a dark baseball hat and driving a small dark-coloured (possibly grey or silver) car similar to a Honda Civic.
Last week police issued a release noting they were investigating incidents that haven taken place in St. Catharines, NOTL, Thorold, Pelham, Lincoln, Grimsby and Niagara Falls.
Damage estimates to all the vehicles involved are around $20,000.
