Niagara-on-the-Lake will receive $900,000 from the federal government to help support the local tourism sector.
About $500,000 will be going to small and medium sized businesses.
The town is going establish a fund which will provide these businesses with up to $20,000 to cover the cost of reopening.
This should support 50 businesses and help save 100 jobs.
The remaining $400,000 will be benefit the Shaw Festival.
Minister of Economic Development Melanie Joly made the big announcement yesterday.
