The cash is coming from both the provincial and federal governments
The money will be used to help further protect students from COVID-19 when they return to classrooms
The DSBN will receive $13 million and Niagara Catholic $7 million to upgrade infrastructure at local schools to protect against the virus.
The money will go toward improving air quality, installing water bottle refilling stations and help reconfigure spaces to enhance physical distancing.
The province has already helped 95% of Ontario schools upgrade or enhance their air filtration systems, with over 40,000 HEPA filters and other ventilation devices in classrooms.
