The Niagara Region is being honoured by Built for Zero Canada for establishing a Quality By-Name list.
It consists of up-to-date information on those experiencing homelessness in the Region and it supports access to housing resources.
Niagara is the 22nd Canadian municipality to establish one of these lists.
The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness would like 50 municipalities to establish one of these lists by March 2023.
Built for Zero is a nationwide campaign which looks to find a long-term solution to homelessness.
Niagara is now going to move on to the second phase of the Built for Zero initiative; Reduce Cohort.
Officials are going to use the By-Name List to test innovative projects in hopes of addressing the homelessness problem in Niagara.
