The Niagara SPCA and Humane Society is now caring for 70 dogs and 22 cats from Manitoba.
Executive Director John Greer says the Save a Dog Network reached out a few weeks ago, worried about the large number of stray dogs in remote communities.
The Ontario SPCA assisted in the rescue, and the animals arrived in Niagara earlier today.
They will be under quarantine for two weeks before they can be put up for adoption.
