CEO says some Niagara attractions are looking to join Canada Strong Pass
Niagara Parks CEO is excited about the recently announced Canada Strong Pass by the federal government.
David Adames welcomes the chance for Canadians to have free access to participating parks, museums, and Via Rail.
He noted some Niagara destinations are looking to get on board. "Niagara Parks has some very rich, War of 1812 sites... Old Fort Erie was the site of the bloodiest battle during the War of 1812. Also, to learn of the history of Laura Secord, at the Laura Secord homested, and literacy, and printing, and the printpress, and media, at Mackenzie printery."
The pass will be valid starting Friday, lasting to the day after Labour Day across the country.
He adds nationwide competition is good. "Because I think anytime that we promote all things Canada, that is good for Canadians. They're travelling within the province, travelling between the provinces, I think as we learn more about each other that's a good thing."
He says for the last 35-years Canada has had a travel deficit, meaning Canadians travelled abroad.
