Niagara Parks officials will provide an update regarding the plans to restore Gonder's Flats in Fort Erie.
Niagara Parks will be holding a virtual meeting next week to update the public on the plans to restore Gonder's Flats, a natural area in Fort Erie adjacent to the Niagara River.
The session will be held on Wednesday, December 1st, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Over the past few years, Niagara Parks has been working to restore the area, which has degraded due to the impacts of the Emerald Ash Borer and past land uses.
Recent restoration work, including improvements to the shoreline habitat and the installation of a pollinator garden, will be built upon in the next phase of the project.
Niagara Parks plans to add a natural pong and wetland spaces, and may also add educational signage in the future.
Anyone interested in attending needs to register in advance here.
Following the event, anyone unable to attend will be able to view the recording and presented materials, as well as complete the survey and provide written feedback.
